How Rally Race Events Celebrate Our Affinity With The Car
Man’s love affair with the automobile knows no bounds. We not only rely on the car to take us from point a to point b and to get to work, but we also love to involve ourselves in auto-related leisure activities.
Since the car was invented at the turn of the 20th century, there have been associated competitive events. From the acclaimed New York to Paris Race in 1908, to the first Indianapolis 500 to the first 24-Hour Endurance Race at Le Mans, competition and the car have been inexorably linked.
Today, the auto racing industry is one of the world’s finest and most spectacular. Individuals from all walks of life may choose to get their feet wet by participating in rally race events, often converting their regular road car into a competitive vehicle. At the top level, WRC represents the pinnacle of high-speed entertainment and technological development.
Companies around the world have not lost sight of the enduring love affair that we have with the car and often choose to develop special events accordingly. There are many different ways of planning and organizing rally race events at the corporate level, for clubs, associations, manufacturers, businesses or Fortune 500 companies.
What is rally racing you may ask? This oldest form of motorsport pits modified production cars, their drivers and navigators against the clock over demanding, private roads. Participants do not race “head-to-head” but individually, taking on some of the most challenging terrain imaginable. Many advocate that this is the most spectacular form of motorsport, bar none. However, a rather more subdued and custom-made version is a fantastic special event solution, as well.
Rally Race, one of our most established event planning companies, has been devoted to organizing and staging events around the world for almost 25 years now. We have experience in planning those dedicated, competitive rallies for drivers using highly modified cars in a category known as stage rally. We have experience in organizing events that are designed as high visibility PR events, for customer relationship management. We have experience in designing and organizing events for luxury car and exotic car manufacturers, such as Lamborghini and Ferrari.
A rally race can be designed as a charitable event, helping to raise funds for a worthy cause while also celebrating our affinity for a particular type of car, for example. The Danville Tour D’Elegance epitomizes this style and approach. A rally race can be an event to celebrate the camaraderie of owning a particular style of luxury automobile, a great branding exercise for a manufacturer. We have developed several of these examples for manufacturers such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. A rally race can simply be a gathering of like-minded individuals, determined to sample some of the best scenic driving roads available together. Challenge Rally California is an example of this kind of approach.
